Shark Point Marine SanctuaryUntil it's sinking in early 1997, the 87m long King Cruiser operated as a car ferry between Phuket and Phi Phi. It met it's fate after striking Anemone Reef and tearing a hole in its hull. It now rest perfectly upright on the sand in 30 meters depth.
It is home to a huge variety of fish and marine life, especially schooling juvenile barracuda, sweetlips and trevallies. Both Shark Point and Anemone Reef are pinnacle like rock formations with Shark Point breaking the surface and Anemone Reef beginning about 5 meters below it. Beautiful tropical reef fish school here in large numbers. Colourful soft corals and anemones cover the rocks like a living carpet.
