Liveaboard Diving
Liveaboard diving is a great way to experience the underwater world in Thailand. Aqua Vision can organize your entire itinerary for you, from 2 day 2 night mini cruises to cruises lasting over a week to some of the best and least dived sites in SE Asia.
Departing North from Phuket our Liveaboard diving trips head to the famous dive sites of the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Riechlieu Rock, the Surin Islands and up to the Burma Banks. Heading South from Phuket we also have 2 day 2 night trips to the amazing sights at Hin Daeng Hin Muang and the Phi Phi Islands.
Further afield, we can also arrange a fantastic liveaboard exploring the amazing sites at Bali and Komodo Island.

Similans - Koh Tachai - Richlieau - Burma Banks
9 Days / 9 Nights Dive Safari- Total 30 Dives
Guests transfer to Patong between 17:00-18:00 checking in at Royal Phawadee Village.
Transfer to MV Mermaid I by 19:00 for boat and safety briefing, settle into your cabin then set up your equipment. Prior to getting underway, the crew set off chinese fire crackers to bring good luck for the cruise, dinner is serviced and we sail usually calm seas for 6 hours to the Similan Islands.
Wake up in paradise to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and enjoy a light continental breakfast before heading into the water for a first Dive 1 at the coral encrusted and crystal clear "East Of Eden". After kitting off a full western breakfast will be served.
Next we visit Princess Beach to browse the small museum or shop for a Similans souvenir. Dive 2 is at "Koh Bon" with a good chance for Mantas. After a hearty lunch and time to rest and relax, Dive 3 is " Koh Tachai" with plenty of pelagics and another good possibility to spot whale shark and mantas. Dive 4 rounds of the day with a night dive before relaxing with a cold beer and new friends after a delicious dinner.
First dive today either at Koh Tachai or the world famous Richelieu Rock. After breakfast, Dive 2 and 3 at Richelieu Rock then its north to clear the Burma border so you can relax on the wonderful sundeck or sort your Richelieu photos in our spacious saloon.
After clearing the border and a delicious dinner, we head off for our 1st stop in Burma.
Wake up in Burma and get ready for some fascinating diving. Today we dive High Rock, Stewart Island and Rocky Island to experience some great macro opportunities including rarely seen nudibranchs, stick pipe fish, spindle cowries and more.
Don't worry if you're not into the small stuff, you can also check out the incredible numbers of moray, stone fish, scorpion fish, and lion fish in full predatory action.
Some call it "In through the out door" some call it Shark Cave - awesome diving awaits what ever you call it! Maybe the nurse sharks will be in the chamber, maybe some Grey Reef sharks cruising in the canyon. If not, then you should still be busy with loads of snappers, bait fish, sea horse, ornate ghost pipe fish and many beautiful soft corals housing rare and unusual cowries and more.
Today's feature site is Black Rock where we make 3 daytime and 1 sunset dive. All are awesome dives with plenty of shark action including grey reef sharks, white tips and leopards, but also huge groupers, giant marbled rays, trevallies, remoras and masses of other pelagic fishes.
Top this off with ornate ghost pipe fish, frogfish and a million glass fish and this day will please every diver! If the conditions are fine, we will cruise overnight to the northern most sites.
We start off the day with a visit to the North East Little Torres, a great place for sharks, huge rays and eagle rays plus a good fish site. Then we head to our northern most destination Tower Rock – famous for it's schooling mobiladae rays - definitely a dive to remember and loads of fun!
If we hear that the Burma Banks are running, we will divert in that direction and check out the grey reef shark action! To end the day we'll make an overnight journey southwards where the Western Rocky area calls!
Keep your eyes open for bull shark, white tip reef sharks and leopard sharks at Fan Forrest Pinnacle during dive 1 & 2. After a scrumptious buffet lunch of Thai and western specialities, its time for a snooze on the sun deck, write up your dive log before the next dive around 3-4pm.
The afternoon dive at Western Rocky Island is a treat for all with a tunnel going through the island full of glass fish, hinge beak shrimps and a regular haunt for nurse and other sharks. Before dinner, we make a night dive around Western Rocky for all the night treasures Burma offers. A great day's diving complete!
Start off on our penultimate day with two nice dives around the Western Rockies or closer to the mainland, before cruising over to Kaw Thaung for border clearance and maybe some sightseeing.
Relax on board, sort pictures, snooze a little and enjoy the sunset at we cruise south to Thai waters and more great diving at the Similans Islands.
Our final day arrives all too soon, but with dives at East of Eden or Anita's Reef followed by Boulder City or Shark Fin Reef, it's a great way to end a super safari. Just be sure to save enough film / hard-disc space for all of the reef fishes, pelagics, sharks, nudibranchs and more you'll see
Enjoy a final farewell lunch as we cruise south to Phuket with time to swap stories, phone numbers and photos with all your new dive buddies. The crew will rinse your gear for you before we arrive in Patong at approx 16:00 hours for the transfer to your hotel where you can dream about your next cruise with Aqua Vision.
Bali - Komodo Islands
8 Days / 9 Nights Dive Safari - Total 28 Dives
Check-in on board MV Mermaid I between 14:00-16:00 hours in Benoa Harbour Bali.
Once on board there is an introductory boat orientation and safety briefing followed by equipment preparation and set up and then you can settle into your cabin. Dinner is served at approx 19:00 hours as we cruise overnight to Moyo Island off the north west coast of Sumbawa.
Start your adventure with a great dive in the calm, clear waters of Angel Reef at Moyo Island. Massive elephant ear and barrel sponges, schools of long fin banner fish and red tooth triggers In their hundreds, frog fish, nudibrancs, eels, surgeon fish, snapper, dog tooth tuna checking out what is for lunch.
After the dive we explore the local village and enjoy a hearty lunch before cruising to Satonda Island for a a macro dive. At sunset you can enjoy the spectacle of watching a million bats head out for a nights hunting before our final world class night dive.
After a great dive and dinner we cruise overnight to Sangeang Volcano off the north coast of Sumbawa.
The Nusa Tenggara region has some extremely interesting and unique marine life. Today we spend the day diving around Sangeang Volcano, either 2 or 3 dives looking for rare nudibrancs, pygmy seahorse, leaf scorpion fish, blue ribbon eels.
The unique environment in this area, of black volcanic sand and underwater hot springs, provides treasures that support a very diverse and specialised variety of marine flaura and fauna..
We may also night dive here too if conditions are good, or we can head over to Gili Banta for the chance to view an incredible night sky above and coral cat sharks below.
Depending on prevailing currents we have a choice of starting the day at Gili Banta famous for its sharks and pelagic fishes or going direct to the Komodo National Park for more exhilarating blue water and fish soup diving!
Gili Lawalaut has several great dives - if the tide is right we hunt grey reef shark and dolphin at Taka Toko Gili Lawalaut or Lighthouse Reef and The Old Passage for fast drifts with pelagics and maybe even mantas! Crystal Rock offers awesome soft corals in gold and orange hues plus the chance for sharks, turtles and giant maori wrasse.
To end the day on a high note, we dive the famous Pink Beach with its spectacular colours, frogfish, slipper lobster, basket stars, unique robust sea cucumbers and more.
Today starts with a safari of a different kind - searching for dragons in Loh Liang Komodo National Park! Here we will walk quietly through the bush on the look out for worlds largest predatory lizard and it's regular diet of deer, wild boar and tropical birds.
Afterwards, it's back to the boat for a cruise south to dive the Three Sisters or Pillarsteen at Padar Island, and then a true diver's paradise - Horseshoe Bay Rinja Island - home to one of the worlds top 10 dives "Cannibal Rock". An abundance of corals, sponges, ascidians, sea apples, black corals, turtle, cuttlefish, & many other regular reef fish. We can also watch dragons scavenging on the beach, see monkey, deer & wild pigs along the shore, go beach combing… Maybe even a chance to follow whales and dolphin feeding in the calm bay. We overnight at this peaceful paradise, diving at one of the many fabulous spots.
More world class dives today as we relax in Horseshoe Bay Rinja Island. The Yellow Wall of Texas is absolutely stunning, covered with enormous yellow soft corals. Drift slowly along the wall looking for unique creatures but don't forget to look out into the blue to see what's coming by…maybe even make a deep dive to check if the tiny yellow pygmy seahorses on the giant gorgonians at depth.
Nusa Kode offers more creature filled walls, together with white tip reef sharks to keep everyone happy! Torpedo Alley is famous for its "electric" rays and perhaps a dive of a lifetime for critter fanciers.
Today we'll head on over to Manta Alley to watch in awe as these magnificent creatures feed, play and get cleaned at numerous cleaning stations. In the afternoon we can check out more big fish dives maybe at Loh Serah, Tatawa Kecil or the infamous "Current City" Batu Bolong - come face to face with reef sharks, turtles and giant Wrasse.
We're also spoiled for choice for fantastic night dives here - Gili Darat is great for sleeping turtles, colourful reef stonefish, spanish dancers, and with the tranquil seas, it's also a good place to sleep and dream about what tomorrow will offer.
The diving around Gili Lawalaut, Tatawa Kecil, Gili Darat is so awesome you will all want more so today we make 2-3 dives in clear arm blue waters - huge amounts of every type of sea life -big and small. Then we'll head off for a a night dive at either Gili Banta or maybe Batu Putih in Sumbawa - both interesting sites. Overnight we cruise back to Satonda and Sumbawa - solar powered nudibranch or ghost pipefish anyone?
On our last full day aboard, we'll enjoy two good dives around Sumbawa and Moyo Islands, a final chance to to shoot anything you missed at the start of the trip. Then the crew will wash your equipment as you start to "off gas" while relaxing with a cold beer on the sundeck.
It's also a great time to download, review and maybe even swap a few pictures before enjoying our trip video and then enjoying a final mouthwatering dinner with all your new friends.
After breakfast we will transfer back to shore at around 9 am giving you plenty of time to hit the internet cafe and start posting pictures, and to either continue your vacation or head home and plan your next amazing adventure with Aqua Vision.
